You may have seen the false charges that the electoral collage an anti-democratic artifact designed to protect the slave-owning states. These are being flashed around like they are a fact but its blatenly not true.
Perhaps these people pushing this have forgotten that slaves were counted as 3/5ths a man . Why do you think this is? You may have been told another false story as to why they did this. Here is why.
The founding fathers wanted to give LESS power to slave states so they did not allow them to count the slaves in the same way they were counted as 3/5ths. So if your not a liberal and you can figure out the math this gave LESS electors to the slave owning states because electors are set by population.
So this statement that it was created to give more weight to slave states is clearly FALSE........It gave slave states less power not more.
